Young woman doing abdominal exerciseWith so many more people working from home these days, many are simply not moving frequently enough. This is resulting in all kinds of problems related to sedentary lifestyle, like sciatica and poor posture. While these conditions are not new by any means, they are surfacing much more frequently.

For one, many people work alone, and it’s easy to become hyper-focused to the point that you lose track of time. Two, many people do not have stand up desks, and so are seated for extended periods of time without interruption or movement. Both of these scenarios result in problems.

Setting the timer on your phone can be helpful, assuming you will actually stand up when it goes off. But you can do even better if you take precise steps to execute some specific movements during those time slots. And it’s obviously better if you can address each major muscle group over the course of the day.
