I call this exercise the retriever exercise because it resembles a dog pointing at something in the field. To perform this exercise, begin by getting on your hands and knees on the floor. Now simply extend your right arm forward as if pointing at an object in front of you while at the same time extend your left leg out behind you towards the rear. Keep your head in a neutral position. This is a great exercise for the low back for anyone, but especially for people that suffer from low back problems, it’s a great way to strengthen it safely and effectively.
