Start and Stop Fitness Sound Like You?
Do you find yourself constantly trying something new to improve your fitness level? Are you a start stop kind of guy or gal when it comes to fitness? When you failed at past attempts, did you look deeper into why you failed? That’s important so you don’t waste time making the same mistakes again. After all, that is the definition of insanity, doing the same thing but expecting a different result.
If this sounds like you, you are not alone. Most people that weren’t athletes in high school and didn’t grow up doing outdoor sports, aren’t comfortable in the gym as adults. That is where personal fitness trainers can help, but what if you can’t afford one? Most people are smart enough to recognize they didn’t just wake up one morning in the current shape they are in. So starting with a trainer could take some time. It’s kind of like starting a long term relationship, you will need to investment some time and money into it.
Accountability
Most people struggle with accountability. If you’re not an athlete, or maybe even if you are, it’s not easy making yourself go to the gym. Now that gym could be down the street or in your garage. Plus you don’t want to spend months doing a workout only to discover that workout won’t get you to your goals. If it’s not designed with the end goal in mind, not only will you NOT get the results you want, but you may injure yourself in the process doing the exercises wrong.
That bring us back to getting professional help. But if a trainer or group instructor still isn’t in your budget, then what? That is where we can help by telling you what exercises you need to do, how often, for how long, and with what amount of resistance. And best of all, you don’t have to invest in an expensive membership, the program uses body weight exercises and a couple inexpensive pieces of equipment so you can do it at home. Oh course, if you already have a gym membership we can give you a program to use there. The price is pretty palatable at only $27/ month.
Secret Sauce
But even having said that, that is not a recipe for success without the most important factor of accountability. Without accountability, whether that be to yourself or to a coach, you will fail again. And that is the secret sauce to our Home Fitness Club. We hold you accountable with weekly phone calls, texts, or emails, and you get unlimited access to ask questions anytime you need to.
But it gets even better! How do you know that you are making progress? To measure progress, at least scientifically, you need a starting point from which to gauge and compare subsequent measuring points to. With the Home Fitness Club, you come into the studio for a Baseline Fitness Assessment with me. This is entered into a computer software program the measures you against another person in your same demographic group. Then we re-assess every 3 months to ensure you are making progress and the results are compare against your original assessment.
Assessment
This assessment measures you in the areas of cardio capacity, strength, flexibility, body fat, and body weight. You also get a log book to record changes to your exercise program along with your meals. This is particularly useful when answering questions your coach will be asking on your weekly coaching sessions. But there’s one catch, if you don’t adhere to reading, watching, and listening the educational material that is provided to help you for 3 consecutive weeks, YOU WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE PROGRAM.
After all, we’re not miracle workers. You have to put worth the effort, we can’t magically get you in shape if you don’t do what is asked of you. And we certainly don’t want you telling people the program doesn’t work when in reality you never gave it a fair shake. Therefore, before we accept you into the program, you give your word to adhere to what we ask you to do. Otherwise you bow out gracefully and we remain friends. Educating yourself is a huge part of being successful when it comes to your health.
If this sounds like something that could help you, please give me a call or email me to schedule an appointment. You can hit the ground running into the new year, rather than join all the other sheep in making New Year’s resolutions you won’t keep. If you don’t have a plan, you plan to fail. Don’t practice insanity, and start living your life to the optimum!
