A healthy fitness program will consist of 4 components: resistance training, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility/stretching, and healthy eating. Resistance training can consist of free weights, body weight training, machines, etc. Cardio is anything that gets your heart rate up into your training zone, bicycling, indoor cardio equipment, hiking, etc. Most people know that stretching is important, but this is the most neglected area. It’s important to help prevent strained muscles. And the last is healthy eating. Stay away from fried foods and foods high in fat and sugars.
