It's my birthdayMy Birthday!

I just celebrated my birthday last week, my 47th to be exact, and it was excellent! I went golfing in the rain with the hubby (since you golf for free at Cottonwood Golf Course), and it was actually really fun! I discovered I have a little difficulty gripping my club when my hands are wet, but other than that, it was no big deal. Afterwards we took hot showers and then went to grab a few appetizers for lunch since we were going to dinner that night at Black Angus, which is our family tradition. Then over the weekend we had a BBQ of about 30 good friends and kids, and I think it was the best BBQ we’ve ever had!

I have a lot to be grateful for this past year. Last year marked my fifth year since opening my studio, and it was my best year since going into business. I changed some things in my personal life so that I could focus more on business and it really paid off. I also formed a new band last year, and we had our first gig in December. It’s an instrumental 3 piece and this was new for us, since previously it’s always been 4 or more people and a vocalist. Our idea was to play easily recognized songs that people would know and could be hummed. Some said it was a long shot, but it’s going excellent so far and we should be playing out regularly in the next few months. I’m super excited!

I also traveled a lot and had more amazing adventures than any previous year of my life. Last summer my hubby, Lonnie, and I went to Cabo for a short all-inclusive stay for only $199, then a 3-day Mexico cruise with friends for only $250 in December, then we scored a Groupon deal to Japan for 9 days, all-inclusive with airfare, hotel, food and tours for $1500. And we just did an awesome dirt bike ride from Tecate to San Filipe for a weekend, which was the best ride we’ve ever done.

I really love my awesome life and I look forward to what this year will bring. The most important though, is that I have a wonderful husband, and loving friends and family to share all of this with. And it doesn’t hurt that I run my own small business where I get to help people improve the qualify of their lives everyday. God, I love what I do. I also started naming 3 things every morning for which I am grateful for, to start my day. It’s a great habit and one I which I would have started years ago. And in the process I learned to relax and trust in God that things will always work out for me, rather than worry about things I can’t control. So I guess I can add piece of mind. God has blessed me with a life I wouldn’t trade for anything.
