How Not to Gain Weight Over Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is this weekend, and most people will be going out to eat at the very minimum, while many will also be eating chocolates, candy, or other sweets. If you are worried about packing on a few unwanted pounds, follow these guidelines to enjoy this romantic holiday and still maintain a healthy lifestyle.
1) Maintain your normal exercise schedule. This means to plan accordingly. If you know you have a special day planned at 5:00pm, but you regularly exercise at 6:00pm, then change your day around accordingly. Maybe work out before work or do something different like fit in your exercise over your lunch period.
2) Use moderation. I’m not saying not to indulge in the delicious candy your loved one brought you, just eat a single piece and then enjoy it over the long haul instead of over the course of only a few days or a week.
3) Do a romantic AND fun activity. Romance can be more than going out to dinner or to a movie. It could mean walking along the beach and finishing up by watching the sunset. Or watching the sunset and then walking to a late dinner at a nice restaurant near the beach.
You get the idea. The secret is balance. Now go enjoy Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart!
