Are you doing hundreds of crunches a day but still can’t get rid of your belly fat? Belly fat won’t go away just because you do a lot of abdominal work. Crunches will however, build your ab muscles which are hidden from view by that outer layer of fat. While you may have a strong mid-section, most people want to see their ab muscles, and for that, you need to burn off the fat that covers them. The foods you eat play the biggest role in your quest to lose fat, and secondly, burning off stored body fat requires your body to burn fat calories by elevating your heart rate. Since your body’s first choice for fuel will always be carbohydrates, you will need to keep your heart rate elevated for more than 30 minutes to to tap into the stored fat calories. And in addition, keep up your strength training, as the more muscle your body has, the higher your metabolism and the more calories you will burn throughout the day.
